Report on Hubei tourism during 2017 Spring Festival holiday

  During the week-long Chinese Spring Festival(From January 27 to February 2) this year, Hubei totally received more than 2.2 million tourists and earned 22.57 billion yuan in tourism industry, increasing by 19.1 percent and 20.3 percent, respectively.

  The 25 main tourist sites under supervision totally welcomed 1.665 million people during the week, bringing in income of 363 million yuan, up 25.6 percent and 26.4 percent, according to the Hubei Tourism Development Committee on February 2, 2017.

  The tourism boom marked by emerging inbound tourism market and seasonal tourism products like skiing, hot spring and snow viewing.

  Main features

  - Emerging inbound tourism market

  Hubei has become the favorite destination for the Chinese out of the province during the Spring Festival. According to statistics, about 30 percent of tourists from the Sanlian to Luotian Hot Springs came from Anhui Province and 40 percent of the tourists received in Shennongjia sking resorts came from other provinces and municipalities as Guangdong, Huan, Anhui and Chongqing.

  - Various winter tourism products

  Winter tourism products such as hot springs, skiing, snow viewing have become favorites during the Spring Festival holidays. The four ski resorts in Shennongjia received more than 28,000 tourists on the fourth day of the first lunar month (January 31, 2017), while the Bailihuang ski resort opened earlier in Yichang received 12,000 people in seven days.

  - Developing rural tourism

  During week-long holiday, the folk activities were organized across the province, from big cities to small villages, creating a warm festive atmosphere and attracting many tourists.
