Fallen City, a novel published by the Writers Publishing House, was released recently. Written by Hubei writer Jiang Yanming, the novel tells of the ups and downs in the lives of four women in Hankou in 1938.

The background of the novel is set in 1938 when Wuhan had already become a wartime capital in the fight against Japanese imperialism. The historical events that occurred in 1938 back the development of the story. Fleeing refugees, the Battle of Wuhan, and the evacuation of Yichang are all vividly depicted in this novel.
